First and foremost, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to check out the website, listen to my tunes and read this little bio.
Let's see it all started out on a rainy night* in Brooklyn, New York. My mama was looking particularly foxy and my dear old pop couldn't resist her... 9 months later i graced them with my presence.
As you can imagine, I was an adorable little girl...angelic even. I never ever fought with my brothers, caused my teachers any strife, or disobeyed my sweet parents**.
Music is now and has always my primary passion. My first tapes (because that is how music came) were presents from a particularly awesome birthday party (fact: my pop creates amazing kids games), they included: Michael Jackson's THRILLER, BonJovi's SLIPPERY WHEN WET, and Cyndi Lauper's SHE'S SO UNUSUAL. I still have those tapes and love them dearly. Other than those 3, I mostly listened to my father's records and the music coming from my older brother's room. This means my childhood was set to the soundtrack of DooWop, old school Americana (lots of Burl Ives and Guthrie), pre-64 rock and roll, standards, and hair metal. If you listen closely, I think those influences are all pretty apparent in the music I pen.
When I was 16 I got on a plane for the first time. As it is my nature to go big or go home, for that first flight I went solo and I went international; I sent myself to Spain for the summer (I had made really good money with the after school job that year). There, I made wonderful friends, learned to dance the Sevillanas, incurred a life time of sun-related skin damage, and realized that I enjoy living places where people talk wierdy. So, for the next several years I popped all over the world, leaving no continent untouched and learning lots of wierdy talk and making amazing friendships and pretty much just living the dream.
Then, catastrophic accident left me crippled and on my parents couch. In Jersey. Ugh. Turns out Kris K was right and freedom really is just another word for nothing left to loose. Somewhere along the path of doing rehab on my leg, I decided to move back to NYC and pursue the arts. I have been working hard and rocking hard ever since. There have been surprises (i was in a musical about mini golf...and it was a sell-out?!), joys (ECHO for example), and heartbreaks (PLT, my punk rock band r.i.p.). I have learned alot and am thankful for it all.
I feel I have found my home in the music I am writing now. I have always loved maverick country music and am ecstatic to be throwing my hat in that ring. I have been blessed with the most supportive, creative, inspirational and downright beautiful producer, Trixie Raritan****. Through Trix, I have had the chance to work with amazing musicians. The end result is what you hear when you launch the music player. I hope my tunes bring you pleasure, cuz that is what it's all about. I love you all and look forward to seeing you soon at a gig!***
